A Rugged Sports Watch
A sports watch needs to be robust for life's everyday adventures. The Second Hour Mandala Burst certainly fits the bill, with scratch resistant sapphire crystal on both the front and back of the watch, a case and bracelet that have also been made more scratch resistant with treatments making them almost 4 time harder than normal 316L steel, 100 meters of water resistance with a screw-down crown, (the same as many dive watches,) and the extremely reliable 9015 automatic high beat movement with Parashock anti-shock protection. The Mandala Burst is equally prepared for evening adventures too, with it's Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 cyan blue lume.
An Elegant Dress Watch
The mesmerizing guilloché pattern on the fumé dial plays very nicely with the light, and as the dial moves, offers a surprising 3D effect that catches the eye. Little touches such as the matching green stripe on the equally elegant crown, or the matching green font in the nicely centered date window all speak to the sophistication of the design. Here even the travel case picks up on elements of the dial pattern and has the same green accents too. The overall bowl shape of the dial design, along with the gradual change from an almost black outer edge to green core, adds some depth that draws you in. It's great to see unique design touches that really help set this design apart, with the stunning combination of applied indices and double pronged tips on the diamond-cut and faceted hour and minute hands. In short, there is a lot more to see here than just a nice mix of brushed and polished finishes in this outstanding design.
Regulated for Better Accuracy
After receiving their Mandalas from the factory, Second Hour will regulate the watches to improve the accuracy where necessary. Please see the Specifications for details.

Case: 316L marine grade stainless steel, surfaced hardened to 800 Vickers for scratch resistance, with a finely brushed finish that is accented by a highly polished bezel and chamfered edges. Screw-down gnurled crown with logo and matching green stripe.
Case Back: 316L marine grade stainless steel screw down case back with scratch resistant sapphire crystal exhibition window, which highlights the movement decorated with Côtes de Genève striping and custom rotor.
Dial Crystal: Scratch resistant sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating.
Dial Design: Concentric guilloché pattern in the form of a mandala, which gives this timepiece it's name, set in the middle sector of a fumé gradient dial with a date window centered at 6 o'clock. Sloped rehaut contains outer track markings to a fifth of a second. Unusual layout of applied indices for the hours, fully lumed, with bevelled steel edging. Custom diamond cut and faceted handset featuring double pronged hour and minute hands, and elongated tipped arrow second hand. All hands lumed with BGW9.
Lume: Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 lume on all hands and applied indices.
Straps Included: A 316L marine grade stainless steel engineer-style bracelet, hardened to 800 Vickers, with screwed links and a fully milled diver's clasp with double pushers and four micro-adjust positions. Also a pair of two piece seatbelt NATO-style dark-grey straps with matching green accent stripes and quick-release spring bars.
Movement: 24 jewel Miyota 9015 high beat automatic movement with spring loaded Parashock anti-shock protection system. The accuracy from the factory is specified to be between -10 and +30 seconds per day. Second Hour will test each movement and improve the accuracy where necessary to that it is between 0 and +-9 seconds per day, measured in the dial-up position when fully wound and settled. Most of these regulated movements should run between 0 and +7 seconds per day, very similar to most elaboré grade Swiss movements.
